The Players Championship currently offers the highest prize fund of any tournament in golf, overtaking the U.S. Open which offers a $12 million purse. As such it’s a highly prestigious event on the golfing calendar.
We were chosen by the PGA Tour to help build a digital journey for fans both on-site and online. We built a data capture system that recorded personal details of each attendee and also recorded their scores at each of the activities on-site. Once all activities were completed an automated score email was shared with players so they could see their results and compare it with others on the online leaderboard.
As well as the scoring system we worked on a picture match quiz, a picture puzzle and an opportunity for attendees to put their name on the trophy and receive it by email.
